Smooth Moves Wii Game Review

Smooth Moves: A Wii Tastic Game

Smooth Moves is being hailed as one of the most re-playable games for the Nintendo Wii systems, not surprising given its full range of exciting features.  Smooth Moves is the fifth game in a series, and, as with the games in the series, it has its own unique control scheme, making it original in its own right.  The game is the first among WarioWare’s to display 3D graphics in two dimensions.  As WarioWare has a reputation for, Smooth Moves features vivid colors, somewhat odd humor, and characters that are a little strange.  An additional similarity to other WarioWare games is the way Smooth Moves is set up – microgames, as they are called, make up the larger game and are based on actions that are typically no longer than five second apiece.

In addition to the uniqueness of its wii controllers and its presentation of 3D, Smooth Moves also demonstrates the versatility and sensitivity of Wii’s remote controller.  The remote picks up all the intricacies and variations of moves on the court, and the display is in full color, making for a gaming experience that long-time gamers as well as new ones are sure to find stimulating and exciting.

Some criticize the game for being too similar to other WarioWare games or other video games composed of microgames.  Others find fault with the fact that it’s not as difficult as it could be, saying that some moves are just too easy, only involving a turn or a shake of the controller.  However, you can find critics around for anything, and most agree that Smooth Moves is a fun game to have around.

Smooth Moves can be played by both a single player and multiple players.  Some think that the multi-player mode is more fun because the game lasts longer than when played by a single player.  For this reason, Smooth Moves is an excellent choice when the occasion calls for playing with friends and family.  Another reason Smooth Moves is fun to play with others is that the game often involves players making themselves look silly, an added component of entertainment.
